Motions

Now is the time for Members to consider submitting Amendments or Additions to FCP Official Documents as Motions that you would like to have considered and voted on at the Meeting. You can access these documents on the FCP web site at:

http://www.familycoalitionparty.com/policies/pmain.htm

For the Party and Constituency Association Constitutions, Members can request a copy to be mailed or e-mailed to them.

Your Motions can be faxed to: 905-538-1739, or e-mailed to: info@familycoalitionparty.com

When you submit a Motion, please indicate what Part, number/name, section, sub-section it comes under within the Official Documents, to be sure it is properly identified. [For example, Part III – 9 Agriculture – 9.2 Specific policies – Sub-section 1]. You can suggest new Section Headings, and motions therein.

A Motion first needs an Introduction. At the start, you need to include some reasoning why the change or addition is needed to existing policy; communicated in logical and easily understood terms. This introduction does not become part of the Policy, but is just the why and whereas indicating the need for a change as you see it.

Then, with the statement, “It is moved that…”, present your actual desired policy wording.

Motions must be received at the Office by March 25, 2010.

Submitted Motions are taken under consideration by a Committee, and you may be contacted to consider re-wording or for additional clarification, if needed. As time permits, Motions are then presented at the AGM for discussion and vote by members in attendance.

Elections

Also, at the AGM, a new Provincial Executive will be elected: President, Executive Vice-President, Vice-Presidents (3), Vice-President - Youth, Chief Financial Officer, Secretary. Written and signed nominations for these positions must be received at the Office by April 9, 2010. The nominee, nominator and seconder must all be members in good standing at the time nominations are filed and at the AGM. Your nominations can be faxed to: 905-538-1739, or e-mailed to: info@familycoalitionparty.com. Submit nominations attention Phil Lees, nomination chair.

Input from members is essential. Do not feel at a ‘distance’! Ideas for positive improvement are welcome and necessary. If you disagree with existing policy direction, do not complain to others, put in a Motion for the AGM 2010, or put your name forward for a Board position. Get connected!
