...What ideologies should be rejected as damaging to the individual, the family and society?

WHAT IDEOLOGIES?

The idea of separation of morality from politics (not just the separation between Church and state) has reduced political parties to institutions without philosophical foundation, hanging on ephemeral ideologies, usually against the interests of individuals and families, such as:

- Moral relativism, which has reduced the ability of our youth to think for themselves and evaluate right from wrong. In fact, even the existence of absolute right and wrong, true and false, in physical, ethical, economic and even scientific matters, is under discussion.

- Socialism, which is in direct opposition to the family, because it tends to centralize decision making (thus removing freedoms and responsibilities from individuals and families), because of its ideas of 'equality' of outcome (which reduce creativity and foster a welfare mentality), and because of its demographic policies (which lead to the destruction of life).

- Radical feminism, which has contributed to the cheapening of human life and promoted abortion, the greatest scourge of our times.

- The sex-liberation ideology (easy, irresponsible sex, disconnected from its procreative function), which has caused immeasurable damage and has prepared the way to no-fault divorce and abortion, in addition to several other problems (such as an increase in sexually transmitted diseases, pornography, a decay in moral customs, etc.).

- Certain forms of materialism, consumerism and greed (e.g.: he idolization of movie and sports stars, the need for more and more material goods and toys, the idolization of a career), which have contributed to the reduction of family time and the breakdown of family relationships.

Bill Gairdner, in his book "The Trouble with Democracy"1, makes the case that classical liberal values derived from the Judeo-Christian tradition, not democracy alone, give the Western world its freedom-promoting reputation.
