The mechanism for changing and upgrading our
principles and policies is formal and our policies are written
in such way that most people cannot really understand.
We think that a simple explanation of our principles and policies is a more
effective and faster way to “connect” with the visitors of
our web site.
In addition, the reasons behind our policies (buried within
the original “Whereas” statements) are normally discarded or lost after a
new policy has been discussed and approved at one of our general
meetings or by letter ballot.
Some of our policies have been discussed and voted on in
the 1990’s. Few people really remember why.
As a political party accountable to our
membership, our Constitution describes the process
by which policy resolutions are introduced and voted on.
If you are interested in the actual wording of our
policies, please click on the “Policies” button on the left
of any of
our web pages.
The
"official policies" are the approved text, but we hope
that these notes will ease your understanding of our party and
the reasons behind its existence and its direction (you may call
it the "philosophy" behind our party).
