As a party of conscience,
we produced policies that are consistent with our principles.
Policies and principles are also affected by the
understanding of the role
of government. The following questions are relevant, before
anyone can establish the specific government programs and
policies required:
-
What are the
limits of government?
-
How much should government spend (in
proportion of GNP)?
-
How much government should we have (in terms of
investments and resources)?
-
Is there
an optimum size of government?
-
What ideologies should be rejected as damaging to the
individual, the family and society?
The
family is affected by almost every government legislation.
Some legislation is in the interest of people and their
families, while other legislation
may in fact
be harmful to people by
removing their freedom, their money or even their life, with the
excuse of a "common interest".
The
FCP has made a conscientious and consistent effort to separate
one from the other (the good from the bad) in order to write its official
policies,
within the limits of what the provincial government can do.
